My Lovely Horse

We'd run in the meadows, play in the glades.
Drink from the stream and then we'd bathe.
You'd nuzzle me for an evening treat.
You never knew one single defeat.

You were fast as lightning in a stormy sky.
So many coveted you and we both know why.
You were a winner, triumph was yours.
Trophies and medals and ribbons galore.

Not to mention the purses you even won.
But most of all you were lots of fun.
The runs on the beach with wind in our hair.
The freedom the oneness the times we shared.

I hope you know how much I cared.
